ZDF's Television Award Ceremony is underway this time around. - ZDF is airing the TV Awards Ceremony this year.

Here's a lowdown on the highly anticipated TV gala for the prestigious German Television Award, happening this year on ZDF! Mark your calendars for September 10 at 8:15 PM as the show unfolds from the vibrant city of Cologne.

This year, MagentaTV, a service from Deutsche Telekom, takes the lead and bears the overall responsibility for the event. MagentaTV integrates traditional linear television with streaming services and exclusive content on its platform, making a compelling combination for the German Television Award. For this year's show, they've teamed up with ZDF.

Typically, the lead for the German Television Award switches annually. Last year, ARD was in charge; meanwhile, ZDF showed the event in 2022. The award is co-supported by ARD, RTL, Sat.1, ZDF, and Deutsche Telekom. Partnering streaming platforms include Disney+, Netflix, and Prime Video.

An esteemed jury of industry experts selects the recipients of the awards. For this year, television presenter Laura Karasek, journalist Stephan Lamby, actress Collien Ulmen-Fernandes, and actress Valerie Niehaus are among the jury members.

Emulating past editions, the organizers will continue to distribute the award ceremony across multiple categories over two evenings to minimize crowding. The "Night of Creatives," a formal yet intimate event recognizing key figures in the TV industry, will take place the day before the main TV gala—also in Cologne. In the past, this event has celebrated individuals who contribute significantly behind the scenes.
