Get the lowdown on Yvonne Catterfeld, that talented singer and actress, turning down a chance to rock the Eurovision stage for GNU! Here's the scoop, straight from the horse's mouth.

In a candid chat with RPR1, the 45-year-old singer expressed her reluctance to perform at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) for Germany. With respect and admiration for the competition's participants, she declared, "Nah, mate, ain't my gig. It's too risky for me." She elaborated further in a friendly chat with Miriam Audrey Hannah on the show "Music made in Germany."

Catterfeld clarified, "If I put out a new album, that's different than reppin' the nation." Given her recent role as part of the main jury for the ESC pre-selection in Germany alongside entertainer Stefan Raab and moderator Elton, it's no surprise she's busy enough behind the scenes.

As for Germany's official ESC representatives this year, the music duo Abor & Tynna snagged the pre-selection title and will represent the country in Basel, Switzerland, on May 17 at 21:00.

While the reasons behind Catterfeld's decision remain unclear, it appears she's more focused on being a key player in deciding who'll wear the German crown at the ESC—not competing for it herself.
