Union Berlin seeks a replacement for departed striker Benedict Hollerbach, with a fresh recruit arriving from the 2nd Bundesliga to potentially fashion the team's next goal scoring sensation.

Youth player Ansah, hailing from Paderborn, is joining Union Berlin's squad.

Union Berlin, reeling from the departure of top scorer Benedict Hollerbach, has solidified their attack with the acquisition of Ilyas Ansah. The Bundesliga club officiated the 20-year-old's arrival from SC Paderborn, although the length of his contract remains undisclosed. Rumors swirl that the young striker cost around four million euros plus bonuses.

Sporting director Horst Heldt expounded on the signing, "We're snagging a young, dynamic strike force who consistently demonstrated exceptional performances last season. Ilyas brings speed, muscle, and a potent goal-scoring threat to the table."

Ansah: The move presents a massive leap forward

The versatile attacker was elevated to Paderborn's senior squad in summer 2023 and was a pivotal player last season, tallying six goals and assists apiece. Ansah has also represented Germany's U20 national team 12 times since November 2023, scoring five goals. With a gleam in his eye, Ansah stated, "This move to Berlin presents me with a colossal opportunity to advance my skills at a higher level."

Union Berlin has also made the permanent signing of last season's loaned offensive player Andrej Ilic official. Oliver Burke and Wooyeong Jeong are set to bolster the team's offense next season. The Iron Ones scored a modest 35 goals in 34 league games during the last campaign.

This transfer strategy is seen as a calculated move by Union Berlin to bolster their offensive line, particularly after the departure of key players like Hollerbach. Ansah's versatility and track record of success make him an enticing addition to the team. With the pre-season upon us, Ansah eagerly anticipatesintegrating with his new teammates and suiting up at Stadion An der Alten Försterei as soon as possible.

Ansah is excited about the move to Union Berlin, as it presents him with an opportunity to advance his skills at a higher level, especially in European leagues, such as the UEFA Champions League or the Europa League, which Union Berlin may qualify for with their strengthened attack.

As Union Berlin looks to bolster their offensive line, the acquisition of Ilyas Ansah from SC Paderborn provides the team with a versatile and promising young player who has demonstrated success in both goals and assists, not just in the Bundesliga but also on the international stage with Germany's U20 national team.
