Youth Interrogated Over Online Menace Targeting Party Head Lee, Political Leader

In the city of Gimpo, west of Seoul, a teenager was questioned by the Gimpo Police Station on Saturday following an alleged online threat. The suspect, who lives in the area, was located at his home and was accompanied by his parents during the questioning.

The questioning was prompted by a message the teenager allegedly wrote in an Instagram group chat with acquaintances. The message, which was made public, targeted President Lee Jae Myung and Rep. Jung Cheong-rae, stating that he would "take one of them."

The Gimpo Police Station is currently investigating the case to determine whether the teenager's action constitutes a criminal offense. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has also requested assistance in this matter.

It was reported that the teenager admitted to writing the message, stating that he did so in a fit of anger. The suspect's family includes former lawmaker Jung Min-sook, his wife, who was a member of the Democratic Party and a representative from Gyeonggi Province.
