News Article: Myanmar Crew Member Found Deceased After Falling into Sungai Krian

A tragic incident has unfolded in Sarawak, Malaysia, where a 20-year-old Myanmar crew member, Thu Htoo Aung, has been found deceased. The search and rescue operation, which began after Thu Htoo Aung fell into Sungai Krian on August 8, was officially called off on August 11.

The unfortunate incident took place at approximately 9.30am on August 8, when Thu Htoo Aung fell from the vessel Moi Soon 2, which was moored at Wharf Batu Pekan, Saratok. The exact location of the fall into Sungai Krian was not specified earlier.

On August 11, the body of Thu Htoo Aung was discovered floating in the Lubuk Petan river near Kampung Kupang. The recovery operation was conducted by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department at 12:23pm on the same day.

The body was found partially eaten, with only the lower half remaining from the waist to the feet. The loss of body parts is believed to be due to bites from aquatic animals.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department's operation team, led by Nasir Drahman, recovered the body. The body was brought to a nearby jetty for identification, where it was confirmed to be that of the missing crew member, Thu Htoo Aung.

The finding of the body was reported by villagers. The news of Thu Htoo Aung's demise has been met with sadness and condolences from the community.

Despite the tragic news of Thu Htoo Aung, a 20-year-old Myanmar crew member's demise in Malaysia, there was no news about any ongoing sports events in Sarawak during that time.

In a jarring contrast to the usual sports news, the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department and the Sarawak Police Department were focused on the recovery operation of Thu Htoo Aung. Eyewitness reports from local villagers were crucial in the discovery of his body.
