Burst Water Pipe in Sungai Way, Malaysia, Nearly Repaired
A burst water pipe in Sungai Way, Malaysia, near the Federal Highway/Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP) intersection, has been causing water supply disruptions in several areas since last Saturday night. However, progress is being made, with about 60% of the repair work completed as of 4 pm today.
The pipe that burst is a 600-millimeter asbestos cement pipe, and the repair work is being carried out by Air Selangor. The site of the repair work contains multiple utility pipelines, making excavation challenging. The burst pipe is approximately 25 meters long and the repair work is taking place near the cable bridge along the Federal Highway/Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP) intersection in Sungai Way.
The affected areas include SS 7, Glenmarie Golf & Country Club, PJU 1A Kelana Idaman, SS 3, Hyatt Saujana/Saujana Glenmarie, Jalan U1/13, Citta Mall, and Taman Perindustrian Hicom Glenmarie. In response, Air Selangor has been deploying nine water tankers to assist residents in the affected areas since 8 am yesterday. These tankers have been providing alternative water supply since yesterday and will continue until the repair work is completed and normal water service is fully restored.
As of now, the repair work on the pipe is expected to be completed by 9 pm tonight. No newer updates beyond August 11, 2025, were found, so it is likely that the repair was completed as scheduled or shortly after, and water supply was restored to the affected areas.
Stay tuned for further updates on this developing situation.
