"Young Shooting Festival to Debut in Holzbüttgen, Organized by The Fraternity of Riflemen"
In the picturesque town of Holzbuettgen, the annual Children's Shooting Festival is gearing up for a special edition on August 5. This traditional event, a collaboration between the DJK, the Protestant and Catholic parishes, the St. Sebastianus Shooting Brotherhood, and the city of Kaarst, is expected to attract even more attention this year, thanks to the presence of a renowned football legend.
Thomas Broich, a former professional footballer who played for Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayern Munich, will be attending the festival. Broich, who is currently working as a football pundit for Sky Sports Germany, has shown his support for the children's event and will be participating in the festivities at the parish center, Marienplatz.
The Children's Shooting Festival is a cherished event in Holzbuettgen, and it seems that its popularity continues to grow. The St. Sebastianus Shooting Brotherhood, known for its comparatively high membership and an average age of 47 years, has not seen a decrease in membership during the Corona pandemic.
The festival will commence at 3 pm, with kindergarten and schoolchildren marching from the parish center, Königstraße, Marienstraße, to the festival site at Marienplatz. The highlight of the event will be the 'Circus and Acrobatics Show' at 3:15 pm.
During the festival, the participating children will receive an award from the shooting king, S.M. Stephan I. (Hedwig). The king's couple, Stephan and Bettina, are also looking forward to the festival, referring to it as the 'most beautiful days of the year.' S.M. Stephan I. (Hedwig) has assured the children that he is approachable and has prepared for all possible questions.
Thomas Broich's attendance at the festival is a testament to its growing popularity and a demonstration of his commitment to promoting children's activities. His support for the Children's Shooting Festival aligns with his investment in community events. Deputy Master of Ceremonies Stefan Schüpper also believes that the festival is an investment in the future.
With the addition of Thomas Broich to the lineup, the Children's Shooting Festival in Holzbuettgen promises to be an exciting event not to be missed. The award for the children will be gingerbread hearts with an image of the original king's order. So, mark your calendars for August 5, and join the festivities in Holzbuettgen!
