Young Kazakh prodigy stuns Russian grandmaster at KazChess Masters

In Shymkent, at the KazChess Masters Nauryz tournament, 13-year-old Danis Kuandykov defeated the top seed—Russian Grandmaster Alexey Sarana (2683). The tenth-ranked player forced the experienced master to resign, reaffirming his status as a two-time world cadet champion. The round-robin tournament was won by India's Pranav Venkatesh.

Meanwhile, the Kunayev Memorial took place, drawing a record 409 young players. The success of young talents against the global elite bodes well for future victories by our national team.
