Young Ipswich Mother Found Dead in Suspicious Circumstances as Man Faces Murder Charge
A 28-year-old mother of two, Karlie Sone, was found dead in a flat in Ipswich, Suffolk, in the early hours of Tuesday. Police were alerted at 1.10am by someone concerned for her welfare, but despite efforts, she died shortly after being discovered unresponsive.
Karlie Sone's death is being treated as suspicious. A post-mortem examination failed to determine a clear cause, and further investigations are ongoing. Suffolk Police have described the incident as isolated, confirming that those involved were known to each other.
Paul Stevenson, 39, was arrested in connection with her death. He was questioned at the Police Investigation Centre in Martlesham before being charged with murder. Stevenson later appeared at Ipswich Crown Court, where a trial date was set for September 24. Sone's family paid tribute to her, calling her a 'beautiful caring soul' and 'the most amazing mummy'.
The cause of Karlie Sone's death remains unknown as police continue their enquiries. Stevenson will stand trial in September, while her family and community mourn the loss of a young mother.
