Charlie Woods' Dramatic Round at the 2025 Junior Players Championship

In a rollercoaster final round at the 2025 Junior Players Championship, Charlie Woods, the son of golfing legend Tiger Woods, showcased his talent and resilience at TPC Sawgrass' Stadium Course.

Woods started the day seven-over through 36 holes, but a remarkable turnaround was on the cards. After making the turn at level par for his day, Woods seemed poised for a strong finish. However, a run of three bogeys in four holes between the 11th and 14th holes threatened to derail his comeback.

The momentum shifted dramatically at the third hole, a 177-yard par-3. A voice nearby could be heard calling for the ball to go in the hole as Woods clipped a beautiful iron shot towards the flag. The reaction from those surrounding the green suggested the ball was tracking towards the pin. True to the call, the ball dropped, and Woods had bagged a hole-in-one, a moment that was likely captured on video by a fan.

Woods, ever the sportsman, offered a brief wave of acknowledgement to the crowd before repairing his pitch mark close to the hole and collecting his golf ball. His two playing partners walked over to congratulate him, and the crowd erupted in applause.

Remarkably, Guus Lafeber, a player from The Netherlands, also recorded a hole-in-one during the final round of the Junior Players Championship. Lafeber finished his week on four-over, which left him hovering around the top-25.

However, Woods' tumultuous final round also featured three birdies in four holes between the 13th and 16th holes. Despite this, Woods gave two strokes straight back at TPC Sawgrass' very next hole. Woods ended up signing for a 72, which brought his maiden appearance at the Junior Players Championship to a close.

Woods' seven-over total ultimately left him just outside of the top-30 in the 78-player field. Despite the final round's ups and downs, the hole-in-one at the third hole will undoubtedly be a memorable moment in his young career.

Woods had previously demonstrated his prowess with a hole-in-one at last year's PNC Championship alongside his father. The young golfer will undoubtedly continue to impress as he navigates his way through the world of professional golf.
