Junior's elementary sketch landed at ESP, leading to a business agreement: URNE's Angus Neyra discusses the school drawing that secured an endorsement, and the addition of Troy Sanders for their 9-minute single, as well as the necessity of a fellow guitarist as a "brother."

"Young Artist's Drawing Scores Business Deal with ESP, Leading to Collaboration with Troy Sanders and the Addition of a Co-Guitarist for URNE, According to Angus Neyra"

In an exciting development, British heavy metal band URNE has announced that guitarist Angus Neyra will be joined by Kurt Bagley for their future dates. Bagley, a talented musician, will be taking the stage as the second guitarist, making his live debut with the band on September 13, 2025, at the Camden Assembly in London.

This news comes on the heels of URNE's recent success, with the release of their latest album, Setting Fire To The Sky, and the announcement of their upcoming tour with Gojira. The album, released on January 30, is a departure from the painful personal struggles theme of their previous album, Feast on Sorrow. The lead single from Setting Fire To The Sky, Harken the Waves, best captures where the band is currently. Notably, Troy Sanders of Mastodon provides vocals on this track.

The new album's sound is dark, yet its lyrics are about the positivity of music and how it has shaped URNE. Neyra, who has become an LTD artist, plays a Horizon Custom '87 fitted with Seymour Duncans for a vintage sound. He has also recently started using a Schecter Hellraiser guitar with EMG pickups.

Neyra's favorite current guitarists include Mateus Asato, Josh Meader, and Josh Loomis. His rig was previously very cumbersome, including an Orange Crush Pro, Friedman Brown Eye 100, two cabs, and a large 'board. However, he has now converted to using a Quad Cortex for a more streamlined sound.

URNE's current band member, Neyra, reflects on their first tour with Orange Goblin in 2021. He cites Metallica's performance at Earl's Court during the St. Anger tour as a significant influence on URNE's music.

Interestingly, the deal with LTD came about due to a doodle Neyra drew in a Year 7 textbook of his dream guitar, an ESP Crucify. The band is still a DIY band, and on their 2023 tour with Gojira, they drove their van full of gear 12 to 14 hours a day.

URNE's debut LP, Serpent & Spirit, was released around the time of their first tour with Orange Goblin. The band is now preparing for their farewell tour with Orange Goblin, set to take place in December. Their new single, Be Not Dismayed, is out now via Spinefarm. Setting Fire To The Sky is available for preorder now.

As URNE gears up for their upcoming tour and new album, fans are eagerly awaiting the band's continued success in the heavy metal scene. With the addition of Kurt Bagley, the band is poised to create a wall of sound on stage, as both Neyra and Bagley will be running a wet/dry blend of two amps each.
