In the vast and captivating world of Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone, a new spin-off series is on the horizon. Y: Marshals, set to premiere on CBS in spring 2026, will delve into the life of Luke Grimes' character, Kayce Dutton, as he joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals in Montana.

The series, which is part of the CBS mid-season lineup, will consist of a 13-episode season. Y: Marshals picks up shortly after Yellowstone season 5, with Kayce leaving the Yellowstone Ranch behind to embark on a new adventure.

Kayce's skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL will be put to the test as he delivers "range justice" in the region. The show promises to explore the burdens of duty and family life, as well as the psychological consequences of serving as the last line of defense in Montana's ongoing battle against violence.

The cast of Y: Marshals includes Logan Marshall-Green, who will play Pete Calvin, a friend from Kayce’s military past. This addition to the cast will undoubtedly add depth to the storyline around Kayce’s life beyond the ranch.

The series is expected to begin filming in the late summer or fall, with details about the specifics of the plot still under wraps. However, it is known that Y: Marshals will extend the Yellowstone legacy into a procedural drama focused on law enforcement in the West.

This announcement follows the confirmation of several other spinoffs, including one centred around characters Rip and Beth, tentatively titled Dutton Ranch, and The Madison, starring Michelle Pfeiffer. While details about these series are scarce, they are set to debut in 2026 as well.
