Yekaterinburg’s tallest slide and light festival close due to extreme cold

The tallest slide in Yekaterinburg’s Mayakovsky Park has shut for the day due to freezing temperatures. The closure also affects the Kingdom of Magical Lights festival, which shares the same area. Both attractions were meant to be open for the winter season. The slide had only opened for the season on November 14. Extreme cold forced its temporary shutdown, along with the nearby festival. Park management, overseen by the local municipal authority, made the decision to prioritise safety. The slide and festival will reopen once temperatures rise to safer levels. Until then, the rest of the park continues to welcome guests. No further closures have been announced for other facilities.
