The ATP Finals tennis tournament is underway in Turin, Italy, and the opening rounds have seen some exciting matches. In the 'Green' group, Italian Janik Sinner secured a win in his second-round match against an opponent yet to be named.

Sinner, currently ranked 4th in the world, has been in fine form, having previously won against Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas in the tournament. Tsitsipas, who is now out of the competition due to an injury, was replaced by Polish tennis player Hubert Hurkacz, who is currently ranked 11th in the ATP ranking.

In the 'Red' group, the opening matches saw German Alexander Zverev and Russian Daniil Medvedev emerge victorious. Zverev defeated Carlos Alcaraz, while Medvedev won against Andrey Rublev. The upcoming matches in the 'Red' group will see Alcaraz (2) face Rublev (5), and Zverev will take on Medvedev.

Meanwhile, Serbian Novak Djokovic, the world number one, started the tournament with a win against Danish player Holger Rune. Djokovic's victory was a closely contested one, with the score 7:5, 6:7 (5:7), 7:6 (7:2). However, Rune later proved stronger than Tsitsipas, who had to withdraw from the tournament.

The ATP Finals tournament features 8 groups, each with 4 players. The two best tennis players from each group will advance to the semifinals of the tournament. The tournament format includes round-robin matches followed by semifinals and a final.
