Yakutia's young chess stars dominate Far Eastern Championship with seven medals

The Far Eastern Federal District Chess Championship is currently underway in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Young players from the region have already secured multiple medals across different disciplines. Team Yakutia has claimed seven medals so far in the competition. Among the standout performers, Alexander Ivanov took second place in the rapid discipline for boys under 17. He also secured third place in the blitz discipline for the same age group.

Arthur Vasilyev won first place in chess composition solving for boys under 17. Albert Postnikov achieved first place in the blitz discipline for boys under 19 and second place in chess composition solving for the same age category.

Anastasia Kaplich earned third place in the rapid discipline for girls under 17. Meanwhile, Roman Andrievsky took third place in the blitz discipline for boys under 15.

The classical chess tournament remains ongoing, with its final rounds scheduled to finish on November 14. The championship has already seen strong performances from Yakutia’s young players. With more events still to conclude, the final medal count may yet rise before the competition ends.
