Yakutian SFR to Honor Veterans for Eight Decades of Great Victory's Anniversary

Starting April 3, 2025, residents of Yakutia who fit certain criteria are receiving a one-time payment to honor the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, as decreed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. This payment, ranging from 55,000 to 80,000 rubles, is for participants and invalids of the Great Patriotic War, their widows, and citizens who've earned badges like "Hero of the Blockaded Leningrad" or "Hero of the Besieged Sevastopol". Former underage prisoners of concentration camps, laborers on the home front, and adult prisoners of fascism are also eligible for the lower payment.

Since 2019, participating veterans have also received an annual payment of 10,000 rubles. However, the details for this annual payment are not explicitly mentioned in recent reports. These payments are made through banks or Russian Post, depending on the recipient's preference, between April 3 and 10, 2025.

For any queries regarding the payments, the Yakutia branch of the Social Fund can be contacted via their free hotline (8-800-100-00-01) or through their social media pages, such as VKontakte, Одноклассники, or Telegram.

In a separate development, a special edition of the Russian Lotto will contribute partial proceeds to veteran support. Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan announced a similar payment of 100,000 soms (approximately 113,500 RUB equivalent) for the same veteran categories, including siege survivors of Leningrad.

It's worth noting that while the details for the 55,000 RUB payment tier are not fully specified in available sources, the one-time payments of 80,000 rubles are for disabled WWII veterans, combat veterans, former underage prisoners of Nazi concentration camps/ghettos, and widows/widowers of military personnel or veterans who died during WWII, the Soviet-Finnish War, or the Soviet-Japanese War.

As for military recruitment, Russian regions have increased enlistment bonuses substantially, with an average of 1.5 million RUB for volunteers fighting in Ukraine. However, these bonuses are separate from the veteran payments discussed here.
