Yakutia Youth Checkers Championship Underway with 259 Young Talents

The Yakutia Youth and Junior Russian Checkers Championship is currently underway, from January 16 to 21. Supported by the federal project 'Sport - Normal Life' under the national project 'Demography', this event brings together 112 boys and 147 girls from 14 districts.

The championship is divided into age groups: under 9, under 11, under 14, under 17, and under 20. Winners in the under-20 category will represent Yakutia in the Russian Championship in Yaroslavl. Meanwhile, younger age group winners will advance to the championship in Samara.

The event is hosted at the Anatoli Karpov Chess School, though no information is available about its leader.

With 259 young checkers players participating, the Yakutia Youth and Junior Russian Checkers Championship fosters talent and promotes the sport. Winners will go on to represent Yakutia in national championships.
