Yakutia Team Dominates Russian Draughts Championship, Wins 9 Medals and Qualifies for 2026 World Championship

The Yakutia team made a strong showing at the Russian Draughts Championship in Sochi, winning nine medals and securing spots in the 2026 World Russian Draughts Championship. The team's success was led by Sanadara Aprosimova, who swept all three programs, winning gold in rapid, blitz, and classical events. She scored impressively, with 14 out of 18 points in the rapid, 16 out of 20 in the blitz, and a final round victory in the classical. Gavril Kolesov and Nikolai Struchkov also contributed to the team's success in the rapid program. Kolesov took first place with 16 out of 20 points, while Struchkov followed closely with 15 out of 20 points. Notably, the entire podium in this event was filled by Yakutia team members, with Daiayana Kondratyeva securing bronze. Kondratyeva also won two more medals in the women's category, a silver and a bronze, showcasing the team's depth and strength. The Yakutia team's dominant performance at the championship has earned them qualification for the 2026 World Russian Draughts Championship. Their medal haul, led by Aprosimova's triple gold, demonstrates their prowess in the sport and sets high expectations for future competitions.
