Yakutia Restricts Foreign Emails to Government Agencies

The Republic of Yakutia has implemented new email restrictions. Starting December 6, 2023, messages sent to government authorities via certain foreign domains will be restricted. This includes Gmail, Proton, Onionmail, Megamail, and Hotmail. The move aims to combat an increase in false messages with extremist content.

The affected government email domains in Yakutia are 'sakha.gov.ru', 'adm.sakha.gov.ru', and 'gov14.ru'. However, it's unclear which specific authorities within the Republic are impacted by these restrictions. To ensure smooth communication, citizens are advised to use domestic email services when contacting Yakutia government agencies. This proactive measure is taken to maintain the integrity and security of official communications.

Effective December 6, 2023, messages sent to Yakutia government authorities via Gmail, Proton, Onionmail, Megamail, and Hotmail will be restricted. This is a temporary measure to prevent false messages with extremist content from reaching government inboxes. Citizens are encouraged to use domestic email services for official communications during this period.
