Yakutia Residents Now Eligible for Regional Maternity Capital
Yakutia residents can now benefit from the regional maternity capital, a financial aid for families with children. The programme, managed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, offers substantial sums to improve housing, education, or purchase services for children with disabilities.
The regional maternity capital is available to Russian citizens residing in Yakutia for at least three years. It is issued to the woman who has given birth or adopted the second child, or to the sole adoptive parent. The funds can be used to enhance living conditions, educate children, or buy goods and services for children with disabilities.
Last year, President Putin clarified the federal maternity capital's conditions. Starting January 1, 2024, it will only be paid to Russian citizens at the time of the child's birth, and only if the child is a Russian citizen by birth. The regional maternity capital in Yakutia is indexed annually starting February 1st for the second child born.
As of February 1, 2024, the regional maternity capital for children born in 2019 will be over 189,000 rubles, and for those born in 2020, it will be over 249,000 rubles. Applications can be submitted at any MFC office or online, with required documents including a Russian passport, residence proof, birth certificates of children, and federal maternity capital information (if applicable).
