Yakutia Experiences Absence of Natural Fires for an Extended Period
In the heart of Siberia, the republic of Yakutia has been enjoying a fire-free streak since August 11, 2025. This significant achievement is primarily attributed to the tireless efforts of the regional firefighting forces and companies like RNG Group, which have been actively deploying personnel and specialized equipment to extinguish remaining fires and prevent their spread.
The absence of active wildfires can also be linked to the local weather conditions. Mid-August saw increased humidity and intermittent rainfall, as weather data from Yakutsk shows, which significantly reduced fire risk. Patchy rain and partly cloudy conditions with moderate temperatures and humidity around this period have played a crucial role in keeping the fires at bay.
The Head of Yakutia established a special fire prevention regime throughout the republic on June 5, 2025. This measure was further reinforced with the introduction of special fire prevention regimes in several districts, including Verkhoyansky, Olekminsky, Churapchinsky, and Eveno-Bytantaisky, as well as in the village of Zhatai.
Despite these efforts, 73 individuals have been identified as the cause of wildfires. It is crucial to report any wildfire discovery immediately, either by calling the Regional Forestry Management Dispatch Service at 7 (4112) 44-74-76 or the single forest protection number 8-800-100-94-00.
Since the start of the season, 150 protocols have been issued for violations of forest fire safety rules. Let's continue to work together to maintain this hard-earned fire-free streak in Yakutia.
