Yakutia Braces for Week of Extreme Weather: Snow, Rain, and Temperature Swings
Yakutia is set for a week of varied weather, with temperatures swinging from warm to below freezing. Snow and rain are expected in different regions, making for challenging conditions.
Starting Wednesday, Yakutsk will experience a chilly night with temperatures dropping to -5... -7 degrees and light snow. Most of Yakutia will see light snow, except for the central, southern, and western regions which will remain mainly dry.
Wednesday's daytime temperatures in Yakutsk will range from 0 to -2 degrees, with icy roads and wind gusts up to 8-13 meters per second. Central regions will see temperatures between -3 and +2, while the southwest could reach up to +2... +7, and the north down to -5... -10.
The warmest days in the central regions are forecast for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with temperatures peaking at +5 degrees. However, a southern cyclone will bring rain and sleet to the south on Friday and Saturday. Snow is expected to return on Sunday, marking the end of the warm spell in the central regions. Snowstorms are also expected in the Kolymo-Indigirka districts over the next three days. Strong winds and icy roads are predicted for the Aldan and Neryungri districts on Friday and Saturday.
Yakutia's weather this week will be dynamic, with warm days giving way to cold nights and snowfall. Road conditions may be hazardous in some areas, so residents are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions.
