Wyoming wildfire near Laramie contained after 56-acre blaze forces evacuations

A wildfire near Laramie, Wyoming, on Interstate 80 westbound was successfully contained overnight on November 10, 2025. Multiple local agencies collaborated to ensure public safety and prevent the fire from spreading further.

The fire, initially a quarter-acre with six- to eight-foot flames, grew to approximately 56 acres before being contained. Nearby residents along Banner Road and Carol Road were evacuated as a precaution. Interstate 80 westbound was temporarily closed to allow firefighters safe access to the scene.

Firefighters from the Wyoming Department of Fire Prevention and Electrical Safety, the Laramie Fire Department, and local sheriff's offices worked tirelessly to combat the blaze. Despite the fire's growth, no injuries were reported. Crews remained on-site to extinguish a large haystack that was still smoldering within the containment zone.

The fire was fully contained overnight, with residents potentially seeing light smoke as cleanup continues. The City of Laramie Fire Department thanked all cooperating agencies and the community for their cooperation during evacuation and response efforts.
