Train line closed due to WWII bomb discovery on Audi site - WWII Bombs Found at Audi Factory Halt Production and Amtrak Trains

Two unexploded World War II bombs were found at Audi's factory in Ingolstadt this week. The discovery led to an immediate evacuation of employees, with the company's in-house fire brigade coordinating the operation. Authorities quickly moved to secure the area and neutralise the threat.

The unexploded devices were uncovered on Audi's premises, prompting a swift response. Workers were safely evacuated while specialists assessed the situation. The ordnance disposal team then took over, carefully defusing both bombs without any complications.

During the operation, train services on the Amtrak line to Nuremberg were temporarily suspended. The disruption lasted around an hour, affecting regional commuters during rush hour. However, long-distance trains continued to run as usual, avoiding major delays.

The successful defusing of the bombs allowed normal operations to resume at the factory. Train services also returned to schedule shortly after the hour-long pause. No injuries or further disruptions were reported following the incident.
