WWE Legend Ric Flair Emotionally Collapses during Post-Hulk Hogan Interview
Ric Flair, the 16-time World Champion of professional wrestling, is in mourning following the passing of his long-time friend, Hulk Hogan. Hogan, a legendary figure in the world of wrestling, died at the age of 71.
Flair shared his grief with TMZ, describing Hogan as a close friend and a constant presence in his life since they both started in the wrestling business. He recalled Hogan's support during his own near-death medical emergency a couple of years ago, with Hogan being one of his first visitors in the hospital.
Flair also remembered Hogan's kindness when his son, Reid, was sick. Hogan lent Flair money during that difficult time, a gesture that Flair mentioned he was not allowed to repay.
Their careers frequently crossed paths in the WWF and WCW, with their partnership often described as having 'magic'. Flair even compared their chemistry to his partnership with Ricky Steamboat, one of the most iconic in wrestling history.
Charlotte Flair, Ric's daughter and also a professional wrestler, recalled Hogan's support during a tough time in her family's life eight years ago when her father nearly died. She noted that Hogan was one of the few people who were there for her during that difficult period.
Flair and Hogan teamed up from time to time in their wrestling careers, with their matches often being high points of the shows they appeared on. Despite being portrayed as enemies by some, Flair and Hogan were close friends off the stage.
Flair struggled to keep himself together after hearing the news of Hogan's death. He remembered Hogan praying by his bedside when he was in the hospital with a 2% chance of living. This act of kindness and support from Hogan was a testament to their strong bond.
Despite extensive searches, the identity of another friend who lent Flair money during his medical emergency remains unknown.
Flair's heartfelt tributes to Hogan serve as a reminder of the deep friendships that were formed in the world of professional wrestling, friendships that often extended beyond the ring. Hogan's passing is a loss not just for the wrestling community, but for everyone whose lives he touched.
