WWE Fanbase Laughs Over Apparent Mistake in El Grande Americano's Attire, Sparks Reaction from Chad Gable

It's just about time for the next WWE event, and Money In The Bank looks like it'll be just as thrilling as ever, with an unexpected name added to the Men's briefcase match fray. El Grande Americano secured his spot on the latest Monday Night Raw episode, but unfortunately, his victory was clouded by whispers that the newcomer is simply Chad Gable in disguise.

Wrestling enthusiasts can't seem to agree on the true identity of El Grande Americano, who burst onto the scene in the WWE not too long ago and has made quite the impression since. Of course, there's the popular theory that he's actually Gable, and an amusing oversight in the luchador's garb might've unwittingly confirmed this if Gable hadn't brilliantly spun an explanation around it.

Who Wears Those Initialed Boots, Anyway?

El Grande Americano's qualifying match on Monday Night Raw garnered significant attention, not because he triumphed in the match, but because a savvy observer spotted that his wrestling boots displayed the initials "C.G." This observation sparked speculation on what this may mean.

As it turns out, the theories positing it stood for "Chad Gable" were spot-on. If he is indeed the masked wrestler, what a hilariously oversight by the WWE costume department! Chad Gable himself tweeted about the matter, offering much-deserved congratulations to El Grande Americano and providing a humorous explanation for the initials on his boots:

"Really really proud of this guy! Even though I DID have to borrow him my boots (which he stretched out) last night because the airlines lost his. Big day for both of us Saturday, hombre! Good luck!" June 3, 2025

This explanation makes perfect sense, and I completely see why the typically boisterous Chad Gable is so proud of El Grande Americano. Gable faced a rough 2024, with the Wyatt Sicks setting their sights on him and an unsuccessful feud with Sami Zayn, resulting in his inability to capture a singles title. Despite not being able to bask in the limelight himself, it's commendable that he lends a helping hand to someone else getting their moment.

Could El Grande Americano Get Unmasked During Money In The Bank?

I must admit, penning this piece with only a touch of satire, but I have to wonder just how long the WWE plans to maintain the El Grande Americano gimmick if it is indeed Chad Gable in costume. Eventually, this ruse will grow tiring, and it would be best for the WWE to let it go before it becomes an outright nuisance. With the wrestler receiving a high profile spot at Money In The Bank, will this be where he finally lifts his mask?

Could WWE Be Preparing for a Major Changes, Post R-Truth and Carlito Release?

While I am skeptical, it seems the WWE is finding good mileage in the El Grande Americano act, and it may continue for some time longer. The recent acquisition of AAA and luchador wrestlers like Penta make him an excellent foil, but ultimately, this act must come to an end. For the time being, it feels like El Grande Americano's character is proving stronger than Chad Gable's, so why not ride it until it collapses under its own weight?

I must admit, I do find myself rooting for El Grande Americano to claim the Men's Money In The Bank briefcase, and perhaps using it to challenge for the United States title, or even agitating Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship or another rising Latino star who may earn a title in the future.

We'll see how Chad Gable's alter ego performs during Money In The Bank, which airs live on Peacock on Saturday, June 7th. Until then, SmackDown lies ahead, and I'm eagerly anticipating more surprises.

In light of the upcoming Wrestling event, Money In The Bank, one can only wonder if El Grande Americano's daily blend of sports and football (wrestling) will lead to the unmasking of the mysterious wrestler, who has been widely speculated to be Chad Gable. As Chad Gable himself has admitted to lending his initialed boots to El Grande Americano, it adds fuel to the fire of this intriguing mystery.
