Würth Austria invests €20M to expand key logistics hub in Böheimkirchen

Würth Austria is expanding its logistics centre in Böheimkirchen with a €20 million investment. The project will add over 10,000 square metres of space to support the company's growing operations. Daily shipments from the site already reach around 70,000 customers across Austria. The company currently employs nearly 1,000 people nationwide, with around 350 based at the Böheimkirchen facility. This logistics hub already handles roughly 7,000 packages each day, serving trade and industrial businesses. Würth Austria's product catalogue includes over 120,000 items, contributing to annual revenue of about €300 million.

The expansion will increase usable space by 10,756 square metres and built-up area by 6,866 square metres. CEO Michael Hempt explained that the upgrade will meet rising demand from industrial and trade customers. The site will also become a key distribution centre for neighbouring countries, including Slovenia and Slovakia.

Johanna Mikl-Leitner, governor of Lower Austria, welcomed the investment as a sign of confidence in the region's business environment. Würth Austria has not disclosed how many of its 70,000 Austrian customers are supplied directly from Böheimkirchen or which regions see the highest delivery volumes. The expanded logistics hub will strengthen Würth Austria's position as a central distribution point. It will support future growth while maintaining daily shipments to thousands of customers. The project is expected to further integrate operations with markets in Slovenia and Slovakia.
