Starting next week, on the 18th of June, 2025, our Liga 3 football squad, SV, commences training sessions for the upcoming season. This training takes place at 15:00 on Oberbergischer Straße. Remarkably, three spots remain open in the team, with two of them carrying significant importance.

**"Alrighty then, we're almost there, but we ain't done yet," says WSV's sports director Gaetano Manno with a grin. He knows they're close, but he stresses the importance of rounding out the squad asap. The reason? They're in a transitional phase.

Manno wants the chaps to gel fast and be one tight-knit unit, and that, he believes, will be vital for hitting their goals. And what are those goals, you ask? Promotion, baby!

So, who's missing? Well, three players to be exact. Two of them are heavy-hitters for some crucial positions. One is an old pro center-back who'll calm the defense like a seasoned conductor. Lead the charges, you might say. And then there's a classic striker—somebody who can bury chances and rain goals on the opposition.

"I'm looking for someone with a nose for the goal," Manno says with a wink.

The cherry on top? A young, promising center-back to bolster the defense.

Now, time's a-ticking, and it's cool if they join a fortnight into the action. As long as they mesh, that's all that matters. "We've got a few prospects," Manno assures us. No long-winded negotiations or speculation about loaned players who may or may not secure a spot elsewhere.

Manno wants the new additions to buy into the vision from the get-go, and their wallets can't spoil them rotten like some rich clubs. So, he's asking fans to lend their support: Buy those season tickets and pack the Hubertusallee for the season opener against VfL Bochum on July 6th (kick-off at 15:30).

Once the fresh blood's on board, it'll be their job to make the fans want to come back for more. So here's to a strong finish and an exciting new season!

  1. Gaetano Manno, the sports director of WSV, is hunting for a striker with a keen eye for goals, as well as a young, promising center-back to strengthen the defense, in order to bolster their attack in the upcoming European leagues, such as the Champions League.
  2. With the season opener against VfL Bochum coming up on July 6th, Manno urges fans to buy their season tickets and fill the Hubertusallee stadium, as he believes that the new additions to the team will make the fans eager to return for more exciting matches in the new season.
