Wrestlers from Yakutia clinched victory in the world championship held in Mongolia
Yakutian Athletes Shine at the VII World Mass-Wrestling Championship in Mongolia
The VII World Mass-Wrestling Championship is currently underway in Mongolia, and Yakutian athletes are making their mark on the competition.
In the under 65 kg category, Svetlana Molokova won a silver medal, while her compatriot Artem Zorin took home the gold. Artur Zhirkov also represented Yakutia in the under 60 kg category, earning a silver medal.
On the first competitive day of the championship, Yakutian athletes won a total of five gold medals. Among the winners were Egor Svynoboev in the under 80 kg category and Aysen Mignalov in the under 70 kg category.
However, as of the current results, no Yakutian athletes have been identified as gold medalists on the second competitive day of the championship. The official medalists for gold in some men’s categories include athletes from Mongolia, Slovakia, and Russia, with no Yakutian gold medalists listed.
Despite this, the press service of the "Triumph" Sports Center has reported these wins, indicating the strong showing of Yakutian athletes at the championship. It's worth noting that while no gold medalists from Yakutia have been explicitly named, a 2nd time bronze medalist from Yakutia has been mentioned in the results.
The championship will continue until August 3, and it remains to be seen if any more Yakutian athletes will add to their current tally of seven gold medals and nine medals in total. The athletes' determination and skill are certainly worth watching as the competition unfolds.
The Yakutian athletes have achieved significant success in sports, particularly in mass-wrestling, as evidenced by their multiple medal wins. Svetlana Molokova, Artem Zorin, Artur Zhirkov, Egor Svynoboev, and Aysen Mignalov have all earned silver medals, contributing to Yakutia's impressive sports performance.
