Wrestler brutally assaulted led to Raja Jackson's arrest at hospital
In a surprising turn of events, Rampage Jackson, the UFC legend, finds himself embroiled in a controversial incident involving his son, Raja. The younger Jackson was arrested for a violent attack on wrestler Stuart Smith during a KnokX Pro Wrestling event.
The incident, which occurred on August 23, 2025, left Smith with serious injuries, including a fractured bone, a damaged jaw, and lost teeth. Smith was hospitalised but has since made a full recovery and been released.
Rampage Jackson expressed his disappointment in his son's actions, stating that Raja deserved jail time for the beatdown. He suggested a sentence of community service, anger management, and therapy for his son.
The attack on Smith was preceded by a previous altercation, filmed in a viral video, where Smith hit Jackson with a beer can. Jackson, in a fit of rage, confronted Smith, beating him unconscious and landing approximately 20 unanswered blows to the head.
Rampage Jackson is currently being held on a felony battery charge and is behind bars with a bond of $50,000. He has not spoken to his son since the incident and is dealing with his son's attorneys.
Meanwhile, in the world of MMA, Charles Oliveira named Ilia Topuria as the most likely next fight for an unspecified fighter. The UFC 320 is scheduled, with Ankalaev vs Pereira as the main event, but further details were not provided.
However, the incident has cast a shadow over the sport, with Ronda Rousey being criticised by a rival during The Ultimate Fighter. Amidst this, there's no word yet on Sean Strickland's statement or the health update from the wrestler who was attacked.
In a separate incident, a MMA star suffered a grotesque injury moments before a KO. The details of the injury and the fighter's name were not provided.
The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the incident involving Raja Jackson and Stuart Smith. Further updates are expected in due course.
