In the heart of October, Wormland emerged from bankruptcy, granted new life with the approval of Lengermann & Trieschmann (L&T) according to the administrator's statement. This victory came after eight long months filled with financial struggles. The end of Wormland's hardship was announced, the brand standing tall and ready to showcase its fashion prowess. Nearly 300 employees across nine branches are all set to keep the store doors open.
Mark Rauschen, the head honcho at L&T, couldn't help but express his excitement in the announcement. He pointed out how Wormland carries a robust brand identity that highlights top-tier men's fashion, offering unparalleled fashion advice from a dedicated team. This solid foundation sets a promising path for the future, he added. The previous management team remains in control.
The bankruptcy filing, made in January, saw Wormland employing a workforce of 400. Since then, three branches have closed their doors, including one of the two Bremen stores. However, the Hannover headquarter’s two branches along with one each in Bremen, Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, and three in North Rhine-Westphalia will keep operating.
During the bankruptcy proceedings, the Hannover Court of Justice played a pivotal role in Wormland's resurgence, as per the announcement. With the nod from L&T, the Court deemed it appropriate to officially end bankruptcy proceedings for Wormland on August 31st.
Wormland's rebirth is a testament to L&T's knack for reviving ailing retail brands and taking them to new heights. Thanks to strategic revitalization and smart branding, Wormland has transformed into a premium lifestyle brand. Under L&T's ownership, the brand expanded across Germany and into neighboring European countries.
