Wormer Leutrum-Garde Challenges National Champion Again
Leutrum-Garde Wins Landesmeister Title in Schalmeienklasse
The Leutrum-Garde, a band from Wuerm, has triumphed in the Schalmeienklasse at the 40th annual competition organized by the Verband für das Spielmannswesen in Baden-Württemberg. This victory marks their qualification for the German Meisterschaften, a competition they have been aiming to reclaim since their 2019 title.
The competition, held in Heidenheim an der Brenz on Sunday, October 15, 2023, saw the Leutrum-Garde deliver a near-perfect performance that impressed the judges and secured their win. Their repertoire included a medley of Toto songs (Childs Anthem/Africa/ Rosanna) and a version of "Tornerò" adapted by Guildo Horn.
The active members of the Leutrum-Garde put in extra effort in the weeks leading up to the event, and their dedication paid off. Tambour Florian Baehr was awarded the Meisterurkunde and Pokal from Verbandspraesidentin Ursula Heinrich.
