World's Tallest Witch's Broom Tower Opens in Rothesütte
The 'Harzer Hexenreich', a unique tourist attraction, has opened in Rothesütte, Nordhausen district. The highlight of this magical experience world is the world's tallest witch's broom - a 70-meter high observation tower, now equipped with a heavy steel handle weighing 28 tons.
Standing at 44 meters tall, the observation platform offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding Harz mountains and the Brocken. The tower, the northernmost structure in Thuringia, is the result of a three-year construction project that cost 16.9 million euros.
Visitors can enjoy more than just the view. An interactive exhibition at the base of the tower allows them to mix magic potions, test animal sound imitation, or fly on a virtual witch's broom. For those seeking thrills, there's a 93-meter long slide that winds around the tower, providing a panoramic view and a mystical experience.
The goal of the project is to boost tourism and positively impact the region's economic development. Ten million euros of the funding came from the joint task 'Improvement of the regional economic structure'.
The 'Harzer Hexenreich' is set to attract more visitors to the region, thanks to its unique observation tower and interactive experiences. The project's success will be measured by its ability to stimulate economic growth and enhance the area's appeal as a tourist destination.
