The "Kicker" sets the stage, and 216 Bundesliga pros cast their votes on who's currently the planet's premier coach. The results? Well, they're far from shocking, even if the Champions League titan isn't reigning supreme.

ntv.de has been singing his praises for some time now: Hansi Flick, 60, has proven his might as a super coach, especially with his sensational 2020 stint at FC Bayern. Here, he claimed the three-peat: champion, cup, and Champions League.

The award’s practically set in stone. This vast “Kicker” poll places Flick atop the coaching world, tying with PSG (more on them later), with 31.9% of the vote. It's not a walk in the park to conjure such an exhilarating lineup, as he demonstrated in 2020 with FC Bayern, when victory after victory just seemed inevitable.

Flick kicked off his triumphant run with Barcelona, guiding them to the most electrifying team in Europe. In his first season, he snagged the La Liga title, the Copa del Rey, and claimed the Supercup. His relentless attack-focused tactics sent shockwaves through Europe, but fell short in the Champions League, as Inter Milan handed them a defeat in the semifinals. Still, his Barcelona team became the talk of Europe, instantly becoming a powerhouse to be reckoned with.

Paris St. Germain Throws the Gauntlet

Flick holds a substantial lead in the rankings. In second place, we find Luis Enrique, with 16.7% of the votes. This Spaniard's writing a history-defying tale of his own, recently delivering a first-ever Champions League title to Paris St. Germain. But the finals results? A historic 5:0 stomping of Inter Milan, a scoreline unseen before.

Surprisingly, Guardiola Makes the List

Xabi Alonso, prepping to shake things up at Real Madrid this summer, claims the bronze medal (11.6%), despite not quite repeating the previous season's success. Pep Guardiola, despite a subpar season with Manchester City, earns a mysterious fourth-place finish (9.3%), leaving many questioning just what he needs to do to claim the top spot again.

Arne Slot: Enigma in the Shadows

Rounding out the top five, Arne Slot takes home 8.8% of the votes. This Dutchman led Liverpool to an immediate championship win in his inaugural season after Jürgen Klopp. Though they bit the dust early in the King's Cup against Paris St. Germain, Slot's success with Liverpool is undeniable.

The "Kicker" also polled voters for the world's best player. Lamine Yamal secured an overwhelming majority (53.7%) of the vote. Rounding out the top three were Ousmane Dembélé and Florian Wirtz, with 6.9% and 4.2% of the votes, respectively. Other notable names like Kylian Mbappé and Raphinha also made an appearance on this exclusive list[1].
