In the world of comedy, anticipation is building for the highly-awaited sequel, "The Canoe of Manitu." The Western parody, set to be released in theaters on Thursday, is having its world premiere in Munich.

The film is a follow-up to the successful 2001 comedy "The Boot of Manitu," which became one of the most successful German films of all time. Director and star Michael Bully Herbig, along with Christian Tramitz and Rick Kavanian, are expected to attend the premiere, adding to the excitement.

"The Canoe of Manitu" sees the return of Bully Herbig as Winnetouch, a character he played in the original. He joins Tramitz as Ranger, who are once again at the heart of the action. The plot complexity of the sequel is greater than that of its predecessor, with a multilayered storyline that promises to keep audiences engaged.

The plot revolves around Abahachi and Ranger, who are wrongly accused of murder by a one-eyed sheriff and his lovesick deputy. They face execution, but this forms part of a villainous scheme to seize the legendary canoe of the Manitu. Meanwhile, Dimitri, played by Rick Kavanian in a dual role, rides his stubborn donkey Apollo 14 to try and save his friends at the last moment.

The film features an ensemble cast, including Jessica Schwarz as the boss orchestrating the plot, Jasmin Schwier as Mary, Dimitri's multilingual employee, and Sky du Mont reprising his role as the villain.

Ensemble members like Jessica Schwarz, Sky du Mont, Friedrich Mücke, Jessica Schwiers, and comedian Tutty Tran are also expected to walk the red carpet at the premiere.

For fans of the original, there's a delightful nod to the past, with parts of the mostly Bavarian dialogue from "The Boot of Manitu" still remembered fondly by many.

With its comedic Western parody setting, "The Canoe of Manitu" promises to be an entertaining ride, 24 years after the original. While the tone may be slightly subdued compared to the first film, it still retains the original's charm and wit, ensuring a fun-filled experience for audiences.
