World Music Pioneer Wally Warning Dies at 65
World music artist Wally Warning, known for blending Caribbean sounds with various genres, has passed away. The Aruban-born musician, who brought his unique fusion to Bavaria, died on Friday, September 19, 2025.
Warning's career spanned four decades, during which he released 20 albums. His music, significantly influenced by his faith, ranged from reggae and Latin to soul and gospel. Despite his versatility, he followed the principle of 'less is more', making him a multi-instrumentalist who defied categorization.
In 2007, he achieved a summer hit with 'No Monkey', which made it into the German charts. More recently, he collaborated with his daughter Ami Warning, releasing their first joint live album this year. They had plans for future concerts, including one scheduled for May 16, 2026 in Schweinfurt, which is now postponed to May 21, 2026.
Wally Warning's impact on the world music scene will be deeply felt. His ability to blend diverse musical styles and his commitment to his faith made him a unique artist. His legacy lives on through his extensive discography and the concerts he leaves behind, including the rescheduled event in Schweinfurt.
