In the heart of Russia, a unique collaboration between entrepreneur Kirill Chizhov and scientists from Ural Federal University has led to the development and production of innovative clothing, now supplying the Roscosmos and special military operation zones with socks and thermo underwear.
Chizhov's groundbreaking idea of incorporating copper thread, known for its antibacterial properties, into the fabric has found its way into the hockey uniforms for an upcoming match dubbed "The Magic Game."
The location for this much-anticipated event is the UGMK Arena, where top hockey players such as Pavel Datsyuk, Alexander Radulov, Ilya Kovalchuk, Kirill Kaprizov, Alexei Morozov, Danis Zarpov, Maxim Afinogenov, and other sports stars will take to the ice on August 30.
The hockey uniforms for "The Magic Game" are a blend of the past and present, with a design that harks back to the retro colours of the "Detroit" and "Avtomobilist" teams. The uniforms, being designed by the Ural manufacturer ZAL.TEAM, also feature a pattern of Ural folk ornaments, visible on the jerseys, socks, and shorts.
Alexander Ponomarev, ZAL.TEAM's commercial director, has noted the incorporation of these traditional ornaments in the uniform's design. The production process of these hockey jerseys offers a glimpse into the value and challenges of the work behind them.
Pavel Datsyuk, the organizer of "The Magic Game," received his hockey equipment from the ZAL.TEAM enterprise on August 7. The sports icon has expressed his appreciation for the work put into creating these unique uniforms, finding the production process even more fascinating after seeing it firsthand.
While no direct mention of "The Magic Game" branding was found, the leading supplier for retro NHL jerseys, Mitchell & Ness, is the most likely manufacturer for these retro uniforms. Known for producing authentic retro and throwback hockey jerseys, Mitchell & Ness has a strong reputation for officially licensed vintage sports apparel.
Thus, for retro hockey uniforms tied to high-profile players and special events like "The Magic Game," Mitchell & Ness is the key manufacturer.
As the deadline for completing all sets of uniforms approaches on August 20, excitement continues to build for "The Magic Game" and the unique, copper-thread uniforms that will be on display.
