The world of Western parody is set to be turned upside down once again, as the much-anticipated sequel to the 2001 hit "Der Schuh des Manitu" makes its grand entrance. Titled "Das Kanu des Manitu", this long-awaited sequel had its world premiere on Tuesday, August 14, 2025, in the heart of Munich.

The blue Cinema in Switzerland played host to a star-studded event, with some of the most prominent actors from the original cast expected to attend. Among them are the inimitable Michael "Bully" Herbig, Christian Tramitz, and Rick Kavanian, who are set to reprise their iconic roles. The newcomers to the cast include Jasmin Schwiers, Jessica Schwarz, Friedrich Mücke, and Sky du Mont.

Sky du Mont, who has been a staple of the German film industry for many years, described the film as a fitting end to his illustrious career. In an exclusive interview, he shared that Herbig had reassured him about his involvement despite his character's untimely demise in the first film.

The supporting cast is equally impressive, with the likes of Daniel Zillmann, Tutty Tran, Tobias van Dieken, Pit Bukowski, Akeem van Flodrop, and Merlin Sandmeyer set to make their mark on the sequel.

"Das Kanu des Manitu" promises to deliver a fresh take on the beloved characters, with updated humor, strong female characters, and slapstick elements. The sequel, released nearly 25 years after the original, is set to bring laughter and excitement to fans of the franchise.

I'm not going to be a big fan of this "Das Kanu des Manitu" sequel, as comedy and slapstick elements might not appeal to my taste in entertainment. Despite its impressive cast, movies-and-tv from Germany aren't really my cup of tea.
