Poor Visibility: Super-G in Garmisch Cancelled - World Cup super-G in Garmisch cancelled due to thick fog and rain

The men's World Cup super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen was cancelled over the weekend due to thick fog and rain. Poor visibility forced officials to abandon the race after two earlier postponements on the Kandahar course.

Swiss skier Marco Odermatt took victory in Saturday's downhill, beating compatriots Alexis Monney and Stefan Rogentin, with Austria's Vincent Kriechmayr finishing fourth. The cancellation of the super-G leaves only Courchevel on the speed test calendar before the finals in Kvitfjell.

The International Ski Federation (FIS) has yet to confirm whether the race will be rescheduled. No new date or location has been announced, and organisers stated that further details would follow. With limited opportunities remaining, speed test specialists now face fewer chances to earn points before the season's end.

The cancellation reduces the number of speed test events before the finals. Competitors will now focus on Courchevel as the last scheduled race in the discipline. The FIS has not ruled out a possible makeup but has not provided a timeline for a decision.
