FIFA probe into racism claims against club World Cup opponent of Rudiger - World Cup Discrimination Probe: FIFA Explores Allegations of Racial Discrimination against Rüdiger by Opponents

Looks like the Club World Cup ended up in some drama, y’all! The world football authority, FIFA, has lit the flame on an investigation after Antonio Rüdiger, German football player for Real Madrid, accused his opponent of racial slurs during the game against CF Pachuca in the US.

The disciplinary commission got things rolling after reviewing the match report. Apparently, Gustavo Cabral, defender for Pachuca, found himself in the hot seat.

"We Got Your Back, Toni!" - Says Xabi

"We stand behind Toni and we'll see what happens," said Xabi Alonso, coach of Real, following their 3:1 victory. "That’s unacceptable, and we believe Toni. The furor is under investigation," he added.

Things heated up between Rüdiger and Cabral during the last minutes of the match. After the dust settled, Rüdiger spoke to referee Ramón Abatti, who displayed the FIFA anti-racism protocol sign - arms crossed over his chest - signaling a suspected racist incident. But the ref let things roll on after a quick time-out.

"Just Called Me 'Coward'" - Claims Cabral

Post-match, Cabral denied the allegations, swearing he only called Rüdiger a "damn coward," which translates to "cagón de mierda", an Argentine term he said, not a racial slur.

With four points from two games, Real Mad is yet to secure their place in the Club World Cup knockout stage. They face RB Salzburg, currently level with Real, in their last group game on Thursday night. As for Pachuca, the winless Mexicans can't advance to the knockout stage.
