The famous FC Bayern sports director, Max Eberl, has skipped the Club World Cup in the USA to dash back to Germany to hammer out potential transfers. "There's some business to attend to, then he's in European time. That'll do for now," commented Christoph Freund, sports director, before the German record champion's clash against Boca Juniors in Miami on DAZN.

As usual, Freund swore off commenting on the numerous whispers, like those circulating about Nico Williams. "We don't talk transfer gossip. It's transfer season. We want to sort things out for FC Bayern in a way that's very beneficial," said Freund. When asked if there would be top-tier signings, Freund evaded the question: "We've got plenty of talent on the team. It has to suit us, and there might be one or two possibilities for us."

"Tension Brewing"

According to Lothar Matthäus, Eberl's departure from the USA is a tell-tale sign of the transfer heat at the record-breaking club. "Max Eberl stepping away from the Club World Cup highlights there's some tension. Eberl views a forward reinforcement as more urgent than the Club World Cup," said the record national player to "Bild."

Due to Florian Wirtz's cancellation and the likely transfer of Williams to FC Barcelona, "it's getting hotter" at Bayern in attack, according to Matthäus. Especially since Mathys Tel was sold to Tottenham Hotspur and Leroy Sané is en route to Galatasaray. "This transfer will be crucial for Eberl," said Matthäus, considering the search for a reinforcement for Harry Kane and Co. and Eberl's position within the club.

"Kimmich and Eberl's Squabble"

"To some extent," Matthäus added, "the hunt for a new offensive player feels reminiscent of the coach hunt last year, filled with rejections - but eventually, Bayern scored a victory with Kompany. Maybe things will pan out the same way now."

Something needs to happen on the attacking front. Both Eberl and Freund admitted this recently. Afterward, Joshua Kimmich echoed the sentiment. "Of course, you sense we could reinforce because Flo isn't joining, Leroy is leaving, and Thomas is departing," said Kimmich. However, Kimmich received a rebuke from Eberl: "Jo is on the field - and I'm taking care of business off the field."
