Workshop introduces K-Pop music to Abu Dhabi for the first time in August
From the 20th to the 22nd of August, 2025, Abu Dhabi will play host to an exciting event - the K-Pop Academy X DIMA Dream School. This marks the UAE's first-ever free K-Pop training event, taking place at Dee Studio.
Organised by the Korean Cultural Centre (KCC) and South Korea's prestigious Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts (DIMA), this workshop promises a unique opportunity for youth, adults, and children to immerse themselves in the world of K-Pop. The focus will be on dance, vocal training, and video creation, using authentic K-Pop teaching methods.
The Programme
The three-day event will be packed with hands-on sessions, with each day focusing on a different aspect of K-Pop. For instance, the youth focus on the 20th of August will feature dance classes with choreography from BTS and Huntr/X songs, followed by vocal training sessions with tracks like BTS’s “Life Goes On” and Huntr/X and Saja Boys’ “Takedown.”
On the 21st, the adult session will delve into dance and vocal classes for BLACKPINK’s “JUMP” and BTS’s “Life Goes On.” A highlight of the program is the children's session, which will include a video production component.
The Curriculum
The curriculum is inspired by a fan survey and features current popular hits, including BTS’s “I Need U” and “Life Goes On,” BLACKPINK’s “Jump,” and NewJeans’s “Super Shy.” Additionally, tracks from the Netflix animation K-Pop Demon Hunters, such as “Takedown,” “Golden,” and “Soda Pop” by Huntr/X and Saja Boys, will also be included.
DIMA's First Official Visit to Abu Dhabi
This event marks DIMA’s first official visit to Abu Dhabi and is part of a broader push to expand Korean cultural engagement in the UAE and the Middle East. Participants will get a unique opportunity to experience professional K-Pop training methods and cultural exchange directly from industry insiders.
