Wrexham's Fairytale Run to the Championship Continues with a 3-0 Thrashing of Charlton, All Thanks to Hollywood Duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney!

The Red Dragons have made history by bagging their third promotion on the trot last weekend, keeping their enchanting story alive under the ownership of the charismatic duo.

A resounding victory by the incredible margin of 3-0 over Charlton clinched second spot in League One, ensuring yet another promotion for Wrexham in as many years from the National League to League Two and now to the third tier.

The uncanny pair's decision to invest in Wrexham in 2020 has sent shockwaves through the football world, generating a never-before-seen amount of buzz around the Racecourse Ground. Their blockbuster "Welcome to Wrexham" documentary has managed to snare fans from all corners of the globe.

However, it's been manager Phil Parkinson who's been the silent superstar orchestrating this incredible rise, working behind the scenes since the duo took over in 2021.

In a recent candid interview on talkSPORT Breakfast, Parkinson had nothing but praise for Reynolds and McElhenney, acknowledging their role in turning his once-struggling side into today's championship contenders.

"We've just gone about our business and done our job," Parkinson declared. "We've kind of tried to evolve the squad as we've moved up the leagues, while maintaining the spirit and work ethic that defines Wrexham."

He went on to say, "They're great people to work for. They've been very supportive and let us get on with our jobs while managing."

As for the pair's reaction to securing promotion to English football's second tier, apparently, they were "absolutely ecstatic." Family members too were over the moon, participating in every match, even when the duo couldn't be there in person. Reynolds and McElhenney have made their presence felt, balancing their Hollywood lives with their sincere involvement in their team.

Parkinson updated that the legendary actors understand the magnitude of their achievement, not taking it lightly given past instances where stadium investments haven't always delivered success.

"They appreciate the superhuman efforts of the dedicated supporters who rallied around to save the club during its darkest hour," Parkinson added.

So, with just the Lincoln game left until Wrexham wraps up their league campaign, the lads can look forward to a trip they'll never forget -- a once-in-a-lifetime vacation to Las Vegas, generously promised by McElhenney himself.

But, as for Parkinson, he'll be taking some well-deserved time off, leaving the Vegas fun to his squad. "I think it's nice to have a break, and the staff will do something separate," he said. "But yeah, the lads are off on their way next week."
