In a recent development, three Russian fighter jets were reported to have flown over Estonia on Friday, September 19, 2025, according to Estonian authorities. The jets allegedly violated Estonian airspace for about twelve minutes, but the specific timeline or location of the incident remains unknown.

This incident has sparked concerns about the need for a stronger European air defense. The European People's Party (EPP), a political party in Europe, has called for such reinforcement, with the incident in question potentially being a response to their call.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, Israeli soldier Edan Alexander was abducted by Hamas in Gaza on October 7, 2023. Alexander spent 584 days as a hostage before being released in May. After his release, Alexander expressed his desire to rejoin the Israeli army.

It's important to note that Estonia is a member state of NATO, and the violation of its airspace was reported by another NATO member state. Russia, however, has denied the allegations of airspace violation.

The EPP's call for a stronger European air defense comes as no surprise, given the increasing tensions in the region. As the situation unfolds, it remains crucial for all parties involved to maintain peace and diplomacy in their actions and communications.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
