Worker Seriously Injured After Electric Shock on Construction Site - Worker critically injured after striking live power line at German construction site

A 37-year-old man is in hospital after suffering severe injuries from an electric shock at a construction site in Andernach. He was rushed to Neuwied hospital and remains under observation.

The man was using a high-pressure water jet to clear concrete residue when he accidentally struck a medium-voltage power line. The electric current caused burns to his right arm and cardiac arrhythmia. Neither the power line nor an adjacent gas pipeline were marked on the construction plans. Investigations are ongoing to determine how the workplace accident occurred. The site is intended for the construction of multiple residential buildings, although specific details about the firm contracted for the project are not yet available.

The man's condition is currently unknown. Authorities are investigating the incident to prevent similar accidents in the future. The construction site remains closed pending further investigation.
