The Enigma Unveiled

This Wordle had me scratching my head. Despite narrowing down possibilities after LIGHT left me with 116 words and a lone green 'G,' I only had one 'G' to work with. My hopes were high with GRAPE, but no such luck. With two green boxes, the few possibilities seemed elusive. I took a shot with GROSS, but no cigar—only left me with two words. Lucky for me, I guessed GROWN next, and voilà!
Scoreboard
I earned 0 points for my four-guess game, and a -1 for falling short to the Bot. The Bot netted a 1-point advantage for guessing in three and for securing the victory, placing my foe ahead for May - grrr!

Today's Wordle Roots
"Grown" traces back to Old English grōwan, which means "to flourish, increase, develop, or spring up." Its cunning origin can be traced back to Proto-Germanic grōan and ultimately to the Proto-Indo-European root ǵer- meaning "to grow, become green, or sprout."Etymology Link
