Wordle Analysis:
I turned to trusty Wordle Bot for a helping hand and found myself with an intimidating list of 334 potential words and just two yellow boxes! The yellow 'N' in SCOUT and the yellow 'P' in OPIUM seemed to be the only clues. After more guesses than I care to admit, my persistence paid off, and I finally cracked the final combination: BONGO!
Competitive Wordle Score:Despite my five guesses, I managed to secure 3 points while the Bot dashed ahead with a staggering 7 points, increasing our May gap to:
Erik: 10 pointsWordle Bot: 17 points
How to Play Competitive Wordle:
- A correct guess within one attempt earns 3 points; a correct guess within two attempts earns 2 points; a correct guess within three attempts earns 1 point; a correct guess on the fourth attempt earns 0 points; a correct guess on the fifth or sixth attempt earns negative points (-1 point for the fifth attempt, -2 points for the sixth attempt).
- Beating your opponent earns you 1 point; tying leaves you with 0 points; losing to your opponent results in a -1 point penalty. Add up your points to calculate your score, either daily or over a longer period. Fridays reward double points!
- You can keep a running tally or play day-by-day. Have fun!
Today's Wordle Etymology:English bongo "pair of small drums" makes its way to us via Spanish bongó-used in eastern Cuba in the late 19th century-from Bantu words such as ngoma or mgombo meaning "drum." The term is first attested in English around 1920.
