Women's Tour of Britain journey, sightseeing scenic highlands to bustling city attractions: Complete itinerary detailed

Gear up, cycling aficionados! British Cycling has spilled the beans on the route for the upcoming Lloyds Tour of Britain Women, scheduled from June 5 to 8. This electrifying ride kicked off in Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire, and will wrap up in the bustling city of Glasgow, Scotland.

Prepare for some grit and determination as the ladies push themselves through each stage, with a bumpy first stage to ease them into the race across the North York Moors and the Tees Valley, ending coastside in Redcar. Keep an eye on Blakely Ridge and Langburn's Bank for some serious competition – these two classified climbs will put the riders to the test!

Looking for excitement? Don't miss stage two, featuring Hartlepool and the picturesque town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea. With a sting in its tail, this loop brings the riders inland, rounds Middlesbrough, and heads back to the coast for a final showdown at Saltburn's famous hairpin bends. The stage culminates in an uphill finish on Saltburn Bank.

For cycling enthusiasts who love a challenge, the third stage will be a dream. With distances and vertical ascents that are reminiscent of Liege-Bastogne-Liege Femmes, riders will tackle the rolling hills of Scotland's Borders and punchy climbs like Scott's View, Dingleton, and Dunion Hill. Each climb will be tackled multiple times, ensuring a fiercely competitive race.

The race concludes with an action-packed, 8.4km city-centre finale in Glasgow, showcasing the event during its inaugural visit to Scotland. The circuit will be tackled ten times, with fans lining the streets to cheer on these incredible athletes. While there are no Queen of the Mountains climbs along the route, the riders will compete for intermediate sprints during laps four, six, and eight.

After the final lap, don't forget to join the Lloyds Tour of Britain Family Cycling Festival in Glasgow. This event opens up the streets used on the city-centre finale, allowing participants to ride as many laps as they like between 1 and 4 pm. It's the perfect way to fuel your love of cycling and catch a glimpse of the stars on the circuit.

So, mark your calendars and get ready to witness the best female cyclists from around the world battle it out on the UCI WorldTour course. It's going to be a tower of power display, and you don't want to miss it!

Engage in an exhilarating spectacle of sports, as the Lloyds Tour of Britain Women delves into the realm of cycling, showcasing the most talented female riders across the globe. Participants will traverse various challenging routes, each designed to test their strength and endurance, from North Yorkshire to Glasgow, Scotland.
