Women's squad clinches European Championship silver; Kevric steals the show

In the electrifying final of the European Turn Championships in Leipzig, Germany's promising young athlete, Helen Kevric, and her teammates clinched a Silver medal. The team consist of Karina Schöenmaier, Lea Marie Quaas from Chemnitz, Silja Stoehr (Heddesheim), Janoah Mueller (Haßloch), and Kevric herself, from their home city of Stuttgart. They amassed an impressive total of 158.396 points in the four-event competition, narrowly missing Gold, which went to Italy (161.930 points). France claimed the third spot on the podium with 156.728 points.

This result is a significant improvement from the team's last home European Championships in 2022 in Munich, where they won the Bronze medal.

Kevric, who previously placed eighth in the all-around and sixth on the uneven bars at the 2022 Olympics in Paris, has now qualified for both the all-around final and the medal round on the uneven bars. The 17-year-old from Stuttgart tallied a remarkable 14.766 points on the uneven bars, placing her at the top of the pack and giving her a solid chance at Gold. She leads second-placed Nina Derwael from Belgium by 0.366 points. In the all-around competition, Kevric finished in third place with 53.932 points.

Meanwhile, Karina Schöenmaier, another team member, has qualified for two vault finals, averaging 13.833 points. She also placed sixth in the floor exercise final with 13.200 points and qualified for the all-around final with 52.032 points.
