Women's Lacrosse at Holy Cross Celebrates Initial Victory and Anticipates an Engrossing Season

Holy Cross Women's Lacrosse Concludes Successful Regular Season

The Holy Cross Women's Lacrosse team has concluded their regular season on a high note, following a series of competitive games throughout the 2024/25 campaign.

The season began with a victory against Fairfield University, setting the tone for the team's successful run. The team's impressive form continued as they started their Patriot League play with a victory against the Colgate Raiders. However, they narrowly lost to nationally ranked Cornell University, 7-12, in a closely contested game during Patriot League play.

Senior Forward Sally Zisner was the standout player of the season, scoring six goals and three assists, achieving a double-hat-trick. Sophomore Forward Kate Avitable and Senior Forward Isabela Mella both assisted five goals each, while Ella Kittredge, a senior midfielder, scored twice and completed a hat-trick. Senior Forward Riley Peters scored all of her attempts in the game.

The team's performance has been commendable, with the Holy Cross Men's Lacrosse team also enjoying a successful season. The men's team started their season in Providence, RI on the first day of February and have since improved their overall record to 6 wins and 2 losses, following a victory against the Colgate Raiders.

As the regular season draws to a close, the Holy Cross Women's Lacrosse team will play their home-opener against Brown University almost two weeks after the season started. The team will then travel to New York for competitions against Albany University and Iona University on February 12th and February 15th, respectively.
